Gluten Free Oat Waffles

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups gluten-free oat flour*
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 10 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl whisk the oat flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon together.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, butter, eggs, maple syrup, and vanilla.

Add wet to dry, whisk till well mixed. Let rest for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat your waffle maker**, I use the medium setting.

Add batter, close lid and bake as your machine indicates (on ours the light turns on and steam quits coming out). Pop out waffle carefully (a fork helps) and put on a cooling rack. Repeat as needed.

*To make oat flour, use about 1¼ cups rolled oats per cup of flour called for, process oats in a blender till powdered, doing 1 batch at a time.

**We use a Hamilton Beach Flip Belgian Waffle Maker, and find ours uses about ½ cup batter per waffle.
