Pizza Baking Powder Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 12 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 sticks string cheese, cut into thin coins
  • ½ package natural pepperoni slices, chopped

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425°. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and herbs in a mixing bowl. Dice up butter, work into flour with fingers, until crumbly. Add in milk, sweep into a dough.

Mix in cheese and pepperoni.

Sprinkle a bit of extra flour on a work area, knock out dough.

Sprinkle a bit of flour on top, pat out into a rectangle, about an inch thick.

Cut into 12 biscuits using a bench scraper, transfer biscuits to baking sheet, with a little space between each.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until turning golden on top.

Serve warm, refrigerate any leftover biscuits once cooled.

Makes 12 biscuits.
