Single Serving Instant Meals

Looking for easy to make single serving instant meals, that you could use for a 3 Day Emergency Food Kit? Or for a road trip, RV trip, for work, or even to send to your children in college? Where all you need is hot water (which you can get at an espresso bar, done thru a coffee pot in a hotel room or easily boiled up on a camping stove in a backpacker’s tea kettle. The other bonus is these meals are all high in protein and can be gluten-free.

Pack them in 6 to 8 ounce mason jars or in a quart freezer bag, to keep them ready to use. You can even “cook” them in the mason jars, just add the boiling water, cover and shake gently, then let sit for 15 minutes (great for taking to work, just add some boiled water from the tea kettle or microwave), then shut the lid after eating, and worry about washing it later on.

You can stretch the recipes, to add more calories in, by adding some instant rice (can be “cooked” in a separate bag or mason jar ½ cup instant rice and ½ cup boiling water + 15 minutes sit time).

If stored in mason jars, and you have a food vac sealer, you can seal mason jars to pull the air out and keep them fresh for a long time.
